Makita jig saw blade 792691-8, bayonet type No. B-10S, for splinter-free cuts in thin wood. Bayonet shank, fitting Makita jig saws and other T-shank saws.
What it is for
This is a finishing blade. The fine tooth pitch takes material away slowly but leaves a clean edge, which is what you want in veneered board, laminate, plywood and thin timber where the cut face will be seen.
Getting a clean cut
- A jig saw cuts on the upstroke, so splintering shows on the top face. Cut with the good side down.
- Run a slower speed and let the blade do the work. Pushing a fine blade causes it to flex and the cut to wander off square.
- Masking tape along the cut line reduces tear-out further on laminates.
- For fast rough cutting, use a coarse blade instead — this one will feel slow.
