Makita jig saw blade A-86583, bayonet type No. 59, for fast cutting in wood and plastic. Bayonet shank, so it fits Makita jig saws and any other saw taking a T-shank blade.
What it is for
This is a general-purpose blade for getting through timber and board quickly rather than finishing it. The coarse tooth pitch clears waste fast, which suits rough cutting, notching and sizing where the edge will be covered or sanded afterwards.
Choosing a jig saw blade
- Coarse teeth cut fast, fine teeth cut clean. Pick the blade by the finish you need, not just the material.
- Splintering happens on the top face of the work, because the blade cuts on the upstroke. Cut good-side-down, or use a splinter-free blade.
- Blade length must exceed the material thickness through the full stroke.
- Plastics melt if the blade runs hot, so ease off the speed.
