Makita B-16667 band saw blades, sold as a pack of three, for the LB1200F bench band saw. Carbon steel, with a tooth form intended for cross cutting timber.
What it is for
Cross cutting and general timber work on the LB1200F. Carbon steel blades cut wood cleanly and cost far less than bi-metal, which matters on a machine where you will get through blades as a matter of course. They are not intended for metal.
Fitting and looking after them
- Check the length before ordering. Band saw blades are machine-specific — a blade for another saw will not tension correctly on the LB1200F.
- Tension matters more than anything else. An under-tensioned blade wanders and cuts a curve no matter how carefully you feed the work.
- Let the blade reach full speed before starting the cut, and feed steadily rather than forcing.
- Keep spares on hand. A pack of three is roughly a working set.
