Makita recipro saw blade B-49703 for plasterboard. Universal shank, fitting Makita reciprocating saws and other sabre saws with a standard fitting.
What it is for
Cutting openings in plasterboard and dry lining — socket boxes, downlights, access panels, service penetrations. A plasterboard blade has a coarse, aggressive tooth form that clears gypsum dust rather than packing with it, which is what causes an ordinary wood blade to stall and burn in board.
Worth knowing
- Check behind the board before you plunge. Cables and pipes sit in the void and a recipro saw will go straight through them.
- Plasterboard dust is fine and gets everywhere. Mask up and sheet the floor.
- Start the cut with the shoe against the board and ease the blade in rather than driving it.
- This blade is for board only. Hitting a stud or a screw will take the teeth off it.
