What corrugated means
The rim is continuous but waved rather than flat. A fully continuous rim gives the cleanest edge but traps heat; a segmented rim runs cool but chips the surface. The corrugated profile sits between the two — the waves let air through to cool the blade and clear dust, while keeping the rim unbroken enough to leave a tidier edge than a segmented wheel would.
That makes it a sensible general choice for concrete where the cut will be seen, rather than pure speed work.
Dry cutting safely
- Let it cool. Dry cutting relies on air, so cut in passes and let the wheel spin free for a few seconds between them rather than holding it in the cut.
- Check the bore. 16mm — it must seat properly on the spindle.
- Check the maximum speed on the wheel against your grinder before fitting.
- Cut straight. Twisting a thin diamond wheel in the kerf is what cracks the steel core.
- Concrete dust is a serious respiratory hazard. Mask up, and use extraction or water suppression where you can.
